What is Daily Fantasy Sports?

Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) is the future of fantasy sports. Instead of drafting a team for an entire season you get to draft a new team every day! Playing DFS is simple. You draft players from at least two different teams that have games scheduled that day. Your team’s total salary must fit under a designated cap and fill all the position requirements. After you enter your team in a contest, all you have to do is sit back and root for your players. Player salaries change on a regular basis, so each day presents a new challenge. If your team scores more than your opponent's team you win! If not, there’s always tomorrow…

Can I play for money?

Yes - sites offer a wide range of contests. You can play free games or wager anything from $2 to $1,000 per contest. If you’re new to DFS, try starting out on the lower levels and work your way up.

That’s legal!?!?

Yes – Daily Fantasy Sports is a game of skill. DFS was not affected by the 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). It follows the same rules as season long fantasy sports, except the games only last one day. DFS sites have been around for over four years and have paid out over $10 million in prizes!

There are a few states that currently do not allow fantasy players to win rewards, so their residents cannot play on the DFS sites. The states where DFS is currently not available are: Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, and Vermont.

There are a variety of DFS formats including Head-to-Head (H2H) Contests, Guaranteed Prize Pools (GPPs), 50/50 Contests, Survivor Contests, Solo Contests, and Live Snake Drafts.
