Vegas really likes the Detroit Tigers today based on their Team Run Line (5.5). No other team is above 4.5, so they are the clear cut favorite to score the most runs today. When I build my daily lineups I focus most of my budget on matchups against opposing pitchers and then I add a couple players based on who’s hot and batter vs. pitcher data. Batter vs. Pitcher data is important, but is the least important stat I use in my daily picks. However, some BvP matchups are so lopsided in favor of the hitter that I feel they are must starts. Going forward I’ll call out the BvP matchups I really like each day and include others for informational purposes (as I’m sure our readers don’t agree with all my picks).

Milwaukee Brewers Offense: The third straight day the Brewers offense makes our list thanks to Coors Field and the Colorado Rockies “starting pitcher”. Today the Rockies are sending Guillermo Moscoso to the mound to face the Brewers. Moscoso was serviceable last year in Oakland, but pitching in Colorado is an alternate universe. Guillermo is sporting a 8.23 ERA on the year (enough said). The Brewers’ offense has scored 6 runs in the first two games of this series and that should be their floor in this matchup.

Detroit Tigers Offense: As mentioned in the intro above, the Tigers offense is heavily favored today by Vegas. They’ll face the Twins Cole De Vries in Minnesota this afternoon. De Vries gave up 7 earned runs in his last start against Tampa Bay lasting only 1.1 innings. De Vries pitched two innings against the Tigers earlier in the year and gave up a 2 run homerun to Miguel Cabrera. If you’ve read this article on a regular basis you know how we feel about Miggy.
