With only three spots left in the DFBC you knew there were going to be a lot of entries in Friday’s qualifier! Nucor401 ended up running away with the competition despite 1,823 entries. Whenever there are that many entries in a contest you expect a close finish, but not this time.

Nucor401 secured the 13th of 15 seats in the FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Championship (DFBC). The FanDuel DFBC will pay out over $250,000 in cash prizes and the final event will be held live on July 28, 2012 in Las Vegas at the Palazzo. First place in the DFBC will take home a cool $100,000! To win the top prize nucor401 will have to defeat the other fourteen qualifiers in the “live” event. At a minimum, he'll win $1,500 plus an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas.

Nucor401 won the week 13 qualifier by 12.25 points, scoring a DFBC qualifier high 98.75 points. McDanos put up an impressive score of 86.50 that would have won the qualifier most weeks, but came up short. He’ll take home $600 for coming in second place.

Nucor401 broke the lineup stacking trend with a well diversified lineup across the board. His pitcher, Ian Kennedy, led his team with an 18 point performance against the Milwaukee Brewers and he got some offensive firepower from Aaron Hill, Alexei Ramirez, Andrew McCutchen, and Desmond Jennings.

Nucor401 is relatively new to FanDuel. He created his account on June 1st, so he was playing on the site for less than a month when he put up his monster score! During his first month, prior to the DFBC qualifier, he won 23 MLB contests for a total of $454. He might be new to daily fantasy sports, but a 98.75 qualifying score caught everyone’s attention. He’s my dark horse to win the $100,000 first place prize on July 28th.
